Even if the Migliorati brand is internationally known for its production of dolls, during 90 years of operations in the toy branch it has proposed other product categories too, ride-ons in the first place. The company’s origins date back to 1933, when at Pavone Mella (Brescia province), where it is based still, 23-years-old Pierino Migliorati was forced to a long period of immobility due to a motorcycle accident and thought up a new activity, being unable to go on working in the trade business. He built a paper-pulp horse equipped with wheels and a string for trailing it which became a best seller among the area’s pedlars; more toys followed and soon production extended to dolls made of paper-pulp or cloth, with a cotton dress. These articles and other wooden items proved so successful that gradually craft turned into industrial production.
“At present, ours is the only company offering ‘made in Italy’ doll lines and availing itself of a sculptress and a stylist who devote themselves to design ever new solutions to be introduced into the market”, says Pierluigi Migliorati, co-owner. “At Toys & Baby Milano we will show several new products in all the doll lines, both those manufactured in Italy – Bimbo È, Elite e Nati Ora – and those produced in China by my brother Mauro, who employs modellings and moulds we send from Italy”.
